Coordinating Form I-9 verification can be challenging when an employee isn't located near their employer or HR department.

When permitted by the employer, RE Signature Services can serve as the employer's designated authorized representative to meet with the employee, physically examine the documents they choose to present, and complete the applicable portion of Form I-9 according to the employer's instructions.

HOW FINGERPRINTING SERVICE WORKS

1. Request Your Appointment

Provide the employee's appointment information, location, and any instructions or authorized-representative requirements provided by the employer.

2. Schedule the Appointment

Choose an available date, time, and agreed-upon meeting location.

3. We Come to You

For mobile appointments, we meet the employee at the agreed-upon location to complete the required in-person document review.

4. Complete the Verification

The employee presents acceptable original documentation of their choosing. The documents are physically examined, and the applicable portion of Form I-9 is completed according to the employer's instructions.

5. You're Done

The completed information is returned or submitted according to the employer's provided instructions.

WHAT TO HAVE READY FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT

To help your I-9 verification appointment go smoothly:

  • Have Form I-9 and any instructions provided by your employer available

  • Bring acceptable original, unexpired documentation

  • Complete Section 1 of Form I-9 before the appointment, as required

  • Have any employer-specific authorized representative instructions available

  • Confirm how the completed Form I-9 should be returned or submitted

  • Make sure the employer has authorized the use of a third-party representative when applicable

Employees choose which acceptable documents to present from the Lists of Acceptable Documents. RE Signature Services cannot tell an employee which specific documents they must provide.
